BABCP Accredited Psychotherapist
I specialise in conducting psychotherapy sessions remotely, either via video or over the telephone. Remote forms of therapy like this have been shown to be as effective as face to face sessions, and offer clients a number of benefits, including greater access, flexibility and control, as well as reduced costs and demands on time.

Areas of Practice
Individual therapy
CBT combines cognitive and behavioural therapies and has strong empirical support for treating mood and anxiety disorders (Chambless & Ollendick, 2001; DeRubeis & Crits-Christoph, 1998). The basic premise of CBT is that emotions are difficult to change directly, so CBT targets emotions by balancing thoughts and adapting behaviours that are contributing to the distressing emotions.
CBT builds a set of skills that enables an individual to be more aware of thoughts and emotions; identify how situations, thoughts, and behaviours influence emotions; and to improve feelings by changing dysfunctional thoughts and behaviours. The process of CBT skill acquisition is collaborative. In particular, skill acquisition and collaboratively designed practices are what set CBT apart from most “talking therapies.”
